The Pulmonary Rehab Therapist is responsible for evaluation, treatment and education of pulmonary diseased patients. The therapist must possess skills to assess and develop a plan of care for adult and geriatric patients. Performs emergency airway care, CPR and intubation when required. Provides services of the department to meet the needs of the patient as outlined in the care plan.
Education: Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapist training program,
Experience: Knowledge and experience educating the adult and geriatric pulmonary diseased populations. Demonstrates knowledge, experience, and skills in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation therapy. Demonstrates advanced respiratory care knowledge, experience and first aid skills. Must be computer literate, word processing / data input experience preferred. General knowledge of cardiovascular exercise equipment use and maintenance is required.
License/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist License, State of Florida
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, preferred. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation BCLS Course Healthcare Provider required.
