Job Description

Greets, instructs, directs, schedules and assists patients in the various clerical aspects of the practice. Serves as a liaison between the patient and the clinical staff. Considered a primary public relations person for the practice through contacts in person and by telephone with the patient. Registers patients, makes appointments, verifies insurance coverage, obtains authorizations as required. Explains and obtains signatures from patients on consent, release and patient information forms. Obtains photo of patient and imports into the practice management system. Scans insurance card and photo I.D. document and imports into the electronic practice management system through the document import function. Collects and posts payments and co-payments. Uses multiple computer systems to perform job functions.

High School education or equivalent. Two years business office experience, equivalent education or combination of education and experience. Medical office experience preferred.
