Pathology Frozen SectionA Life-Changing CareerPosition Summary:
The hours of operation for the Frozen Section Lab is 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. This position will cover other shifts as needed.Responsibilities:
Responsible for the 'Gross' examination of all routine tissues; processing frozen section specimens for the Pathologist; provides dissection assistance in the Frozen Section Laboratory after the case has initially been assessed by the Pathologist; primary prosector for autopsies, responsible for dissection and dictation for autopsy cases.Qualifications:
Graduate of an Approved Pathologists' Assistant Program or an equivalent of the Pathology Assistant-type of work experience. ASCP board of registry certification and current with ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Certification Maintenance Program.Additional Qualifications:
Must possess technical and operational knowledge of the Frozen Section Lab and pathology procedures for gross examination of all routine tissues. Perform gross specimen photography, select tissue for research protocols. Must be able to work independently and assist with training of Fellows and students.Benefit Eligible:
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,519.20based on a full-time position.Hours/Pay Period:
